To Wrap or Not to Wrap

Whether you use arrow wraps or not, you have to admit they can make arrows look sexy! Wraps are one more way to customize your arrows. Who doesn't want to stand out in a crowd?!

There really is no wrong answer to the question of using arrow wraps. There are pros and cons, however.

If you are trying to figure out what vane size to use, or whether to go straight, offset, or helical, you will undoubtedly be testing many different configurations. Wraps can make this process easier and quicker because you can strip the wrap and vanes pretty much simultaneously, without having to worry about glue residue. Adversely, if your'e shooting with wraps and you knock a vane off during practice, you are more than likely going to have to strip everything off and completely re-fletch the arrow instead of just replacing a single vane.

Wraps can make it easier to see your arrow during flight and easier to find after a shot, but also add weight to the back of your arrow. If you are a high FOC fan, this means you may have to compensate with additional weight up front.

There is definitely some give and take when it comes to deciding whether to use wraps or not. It is 100% personal preference and you really can't go wrong either way.

Shoot straight,
